Boys soccer plans to beef up their physicality to achieve success on the field

Before the Spring boy soccer season even starts, the players have been preparing.
“It’s going well, we been building up our strength, we’re going get states high hopes!” said junior Raul Montenegro.
“The challenge that the team stands this year is to get in physical shape and withstand the physicality of others in the district; we need to get in shape, get stronger, become faster and more diligent to win games,” said Elian Gonzales.
Soccer is not just a game for fun, it’s a way to college for some players.
“The reason I return to the team was for scouts for college, and a chance to go to Southern Nazarene University(SNU) one day,” said Raul.
The most important part of the team is having strong players and a leader.
“Our strong players are Joshue, Jorge, Edwin, Alberto, and myself. As the leaders I see myself and Raul,” said Rodolfo Torres.
“A goal that we set this year is to beating Nimitz and Westfeild. Those are going to be the hardest games for us,” said Jorge. The boys have a lot of training to do to accomplish their goals.
