The SHS JROTC held their annual inspection on Tuesday, February 21 on campus.  Over 350 students participated in the event. The personal inspection was conducted in Gym-3 and the Cadets did extremely well.  The primary inspector was, Captain Carambas,  Professor of Naval Science at Rice, PVAMU, and U of H, with several assistant inspectors from across the Houston area.  All reportedly were impressed with the performance of the Cadets.
Our Unarmed Drill Team gave an exceptional performance/demonstration in Gym-3 immediately following the Personnel Inspection which was a required part of the inspection.
Cadets gave a special NJROTC Unit brief in the teaching theater which is another part of the inspection.  Captain Carambas commended that the brief our Cadets gave was the best he had ever seen by a NJROTC Unit.  That is also in his report to the Navy.
A Pass-in-Review parade was held in Gym-3 which was really tight, space wise, for the size of the Unit.  This was another required part of the inspection.   Captain Boyer said, “In my opinion, and I’ve done this 16 times here at Spring, this is the best performance that our Cadets have ever done and it was conducted in a very small area.”
Captain Boyer thanks the school for our continued support and suggests you see one of the Cadets in your class you can let them know that as a group they did an outstanding job on the Inspection Tuesday.

Thank you for the well written article covering the Spring High School NJROTC AMI. This was my first time attending the AMI and I thought the students did an outstanding job.
